IS 14279 : 1995 m&T mm ( Reaffirmed 1999 ) Indian Standard LUBRICATINGEQUIPMENT-BARREL TRANSFERPUMPSFORGREASESPECIFICATION UDC! 621.720 Q BIS 1995 BUREAU MANAK OF BHAVAN, INDIAN 9 BAHADUR NEW DELHI STANDARDS SHAH ZAFAR MARG 110002 Price Group 2 July 1995 Lubricating Equipment Sectional Committee, LM 16 FOREWORD This Indian Standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by the Lubricating Equipment Sectional Committee had been approved by the Light Mechanical Engmeering Division Council. The object of preparing this standard is to ensure that the grease is not contaminated while transferring from drum to container or from one container to another at maintenance workshops/various industries, vehicle service station and steel plants, etc. This provides the broad guidelines to the manufacturers and consumers regarding the material to be used, dimensions of various elements of the pumps, design and constructional features. This standard would also help the consumers in selecting the right type of pump, according to the mode of drive available and quantity of grease to be transfered. The performance test included in the standard would help the consumer for selecting and getting the right type of pump. In the preparation of this standard following Inter-plant Standard for Steel Industry ( IPSS ) has been referred: IPSS : l-02-011-81 Specification for grease transfer pumps For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with IS 2 : 1960 `Rules for rounding off numerical values ( revised )`. The number of significant places retained in the rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
